Remove Shortcut Virus from the computer

Steps :

1. Stop wscrip.exe from the task manager

2. Delete Registries

Shortcut virus copied it self to your computer and created one or Two registries to run those viruses.

You have to delete those registries first.

win key + r type regedit then enter

HKEY_CURRENT_USER -->
software -->
microsoft -->
windows -->
current version --> run

Right click run and delete it.
Then go to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -->
software   -->
microsoft  -->
windows   -->
current version --> run

Now  right click run and delete it.

2. Delete Virus files

Virus copied it self to temp folder and startup folder.

First go to the temp folder.

Go to :

C:\users\
Then open your user account name folder.

Open AppData folder

Then Local\Temp

Now You can see wscript.exe  folder.

Delete wscript.exe

Then go to the startup folder.

C:\users\

Then open your user account name folder.

Open AppData folder

Then Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\

Now You can see wscript.exe  folder.

Delete wscript.exe

Now your Computer is clean from the Shortcut Virus.

If You coludn't find AppData folder, You should visible hiden files because AppData usualy hiden always.

Get visible files and folders

windows 8 Users

view tab --> click the hidden files

windows 7, xp Users

control panel -- >

folder options -->

view tab -->

Show hidden files, folders or drives

Then apply OK
