Shortcut Virus

Shorctut Virus is a single visual basic script file(.vbs).
It runs using Microsoft ® Windows Based Script Host(wscript.exe).

setup.vbs

                      When you double click setup.vbs it will copy itself to your computer and start infecting USB flash drives.All of your files and folders will be hidden at once and there will be appear just their shortcuts only.

How to save files and folders from this virus  

First of all you need to stop running Microsoft ® Windows Based Script Host from the task manager.

To do that, first open task manager

Right click task bar --> Task manager

You can see it's running.

You can right click it and end task to stop running this.

Or

You can go to the details then find wscript.exe and right click on that --> end task

Now you can use pen drives without infecting the virus until restart the machine.
