Sometimes we have to face these kind of problems too. Suddenly your hard drives may be unmounted. Then you can't see that drive or open drive. Beacause that drive has no drive letter anymore. If you want to get back that drive again you have to assign a drive letter for that volume.To do that you can use diskpart. Diskpart looks likes CMD.
How to open Diskpart
Win key + R --> Type diskpart --> Enter
Open CMD --> Type diskpart --> Enter
Steps :
First get the list of all volumes.
Type list volume then press enter key.
Imaging that your D drive is unmounted. How can you mount that drive again? Do this,
Get the list of volumes first. Then,
Select the volume and assign a letter for the volume.
Steps :
list volume --> Enter
select volume 2 --> Enter
assign letter d
After selecting a volume you can is that really selected by typing list volume command. If it's the selected volume there will be a * Mark before name.
Then assign a letter. You can assign any letter between A-Z
Now you can see D drive is visible now. to check that type list volume command again.
How to Remove a Letter(Unmount Drives)
